     Nursery and Preschool Ministry                             

 

Our Purpose:

The purpose of the First Baptist Church of Clewiston Nursery and Pre-School Ministry is to provide a welcoming, safe, Christ - centered environment, which glorifies the Lord and supports parents in the care and Christian education of their children.

Ages & Sessions

The Nursery and Pre-School Ministry is available to newborn infants through children who are four years of age.  Nursery is provided during the following times:

                 •    Sunday School Hour (9:30 a.m.)

                 •    Sunday Morning Worship Service (10:45 a.m.)

                 •    Sunday Evening Service (6:00 p.m.)

                 •    Wednesday Evening Bible Study (6:30 p.m.)

                 •    Special Events

Illness Policy

In order to keep the nursery a happy and healthy place for all children, we request that parents keep children home when they do not feel well or exhibit any of the following symptoms below within  24 hours of a church service.  Volunteer nursery workers are never allowed to administer any kind of medication to a child or infant.  This is the parent's responsibility.               

                 •    Fever/Vomiting

                 •    Discharge in or around eyes

                 •    Excessive coughing

                 •    Diarrhea

                 •    Questionable Rash

                 •    Any communicable disease

Snack

We will provide a small, healthy, age-appropriate snack for Toddlers and Preschoolers.  Toddlers will be offered a snack during the Sunday School hour, as well as the Worship hour.  Parents should not send a snack with their child.  No personal snacks may be eaten in the nursery.  However, Toddlers should bring a clearly labeled "sippy" cup of juice or water (no tea, kool-aid, soda, etc.)  Preschoolers will be offered a snack and lemonade during the Worship hour.

Toys

The Nursery and Pre-School Ministry provides age - appropriate toys for all ages.  We kindly ask that parents not allow their children to bring toys from home to the nursery as they may get lost.

Promotion

The decision concerning promoting infants and toddlers is the responsibility of the Nursery Director.  Our Nursery Director makes this decision based on the following guidelines:

•    A child will be promoted from the Infant/Creeper Room to the Toddler Room at approximately 12 months of age, or when the child can walk steadily.

•    A child will be promoted from the Toddler Room to the Pre-School Room at approximately 3 years of age, and when the child is potty trained.
